At Community Conversations: Sister to Sister, we've anchored our Fall Sunday gatherings with a series of questions: Who are we? Where do we go from here?, and now "How Do We Collectively Care?" With the expertise of a clinical geneticist, community engagement director for breast cancer, psychologists, and now public policy, we've been connecting the dots with needs and community wellness.

This month, we're holding this question with Dr. Laurie Nsiah-Jefferson of Boston University's Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy and Carmela Belizaire, graduate of the Heller School for Public Policy & Management and now Organizational Leadership Fellow of Community Conversations: Sister to Sister. The two join us for the first time as CC Faculty, and as conversation anchors to close out our listening series.

Inspired by a long lineage of women in Boston organizing for the flourishing and wellbeing of Black people, we center our attention on Black women navigating the healthcare system in support of ourselves, our family --- biological or chosen kin, and wider community. Through the dedicated diligence of our founders, we've met September - June the last sixteen years raising the navigational capital of Black women in our locality by connecting them to clinicians and health experts who share both their personal and professional experiences.

This Giving Tuesday, we're asking community members to partner with us in raising $50K towards our organizational transformation, so we can elevate the experience of our community members with more opportunities to gather. Please consider donating today or before our End of Year campaign closes on December 31. 2025. Donate here.
